Job Description

  • A vacancy for Demo Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space Secure Land Communications, atElancourt site (France).

    The Demo Engineer is a member of Strategic Development and Business Support and Innovation organization within Secure Land Communications.

    The Demo Engineer belongs to the Technical Sales Support team, responsible to support SLC Sales & Marketing communities to capture and win new business in existing and new territories.

    SLC demo capability is used as a pre-sales tool to support Regional Sales, Business Development and Channel Partner teams during defined sales campaigns and for new prospects. The demo's main objective is to show the operational values of SLC mission/business critical solutions portfolio in line with customer needs and expectations.

    The Demo Engineer is in charge of the technical coordination of all demos and trials (for marketing, customer and/or internal events) delivered by SLC.

    The Demo Engineer is the technical Point of Contact for any demo and trial project toward various SLC stakeholders, such as Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Channel Management, Technical Sales Support, Bid Management, Product Business Management, Engineering and Operations.

    This position may require some travels both inside and outside Europe.

    Tasks and accountabilities:

    The Demo Engineer job position is built around 3 main pillars:

    1. New demo development and training

    Stakeholders: Marketing, TSS, Bid, Sales, Business Development, PBM, Engineering and Operations

    Tasks include:

    - Collect customer operational uses-cases and new demo requirements

    - With support of Engineering and/or Operations, develop, integrate and validate new innovative demo concept and scenarios in line with collected requirements

    - Integrate and validate 3rd party solutions for new demo scenarios

    - Develop training materials to enable TSS and Channel Partner communities to run the démos

    -Contribute toSLC demos e-catalogue to be shared within Marketing, Sales, Business Development and Channel Partner communities

    2. Elancourt demoshowroom and equipment management

    Stakeholders: Marketing, TSS, PBM, Engineering and Operations

    Tasks include:

    - MaintainElancourt demo equipment HW/SW configuration database

    - Setup and maintainElancourt demoshowroom and Agnet demo cloud based solutions

    3. Demo technical setup

    Stakeholders: Marketing, TSS, Bid, Sales, Business Development and Channel Management

    Tasks include:

    - Define technical requirements to setup the demo (space, energy, connectivity, interfaces)

    - Define operational parameters, integrate 3rd party solutions and setup E2E demo solution

    - Support TSS and Channel Partner communities during demo execution

    Required skills:

    - Telecommunication Engineering degree (or equivalent)

    - At least5 years' experience in a position with similar responsibilities: in integration of telecommunications systems and/or Information Technology (IT).

    You can be an experienced professional, or a fresh candidate with latest knowledge, positive attitude and willingness to learn.

    - Good technical background is required for being able to develop and setup demos involving various technologies:

    - Mission Critical Communications Technologies (TETRAPOL, 3GPP)

    - Information Technology (IT) environment and equipment such as Windows, Linux servers, Virtual Environment (VMware, KVM), Active Directory,

    Information Security, EMM/MDM, Android/IOS, Data Centre knowledge would be a real asset

    - LAN/WAN IP solutions and equipment such as Cisco solutions

    - Telecommunications Technologies such as VSAT, PABX, 3G/4G/5G

    - Good communication skills: customer presentations, coordination with various stakeholders (Sales, Operations and Engineering) and reporting

    - Advanced level of English

    - Autonomous, methodical and Rigorous (for multi-tasks management ability)

Manage interface and communications with all customers. Provide technical expertise, single point of contact for queries and support. Resolve complex faults and issues. Analyze impact and approve changes to product/system/network. Interface control to linked product/system/networks Provide tracking and delivery time indication. Publish internal & external reports about activity & performances evaluation. Configuration control.

Regular business trips within SLC régionsare required.
